PIMPLE POPPING INTRODUCTION
Another situation that screams, "leave it alone!" is when you are able to see a red bump, but not able to see underneath the surface of the skin, the pus that is yellowish in color. It is imperative that you keep your hands off those pimples. This is not the time to pick and pop. It is too soon and skin damage and/or scarring is inevitable. Before we get down to it, here's a quick overview of what causes acne to form. A pimple is nothing more than a hair follicle, which has become clogged with dead skin cells, bacteria, and excess oil (sebum). When the pore becomes clogged, whiteheads, blackheads, papules (pimples without pus), and pustules (pimples with pus) begin to form. Bacteria is the culprit that causes acne to look red, inflamed, and irritated. Whiteheads are known as closed comedones, which are nothing more than a pore that is completely blocked without any access in or out. A blackhead is also known as an open comedone because of the opening on the top of the blackhead. The sebum (oil) located on the top of the blackhead is exposed to the air, which in turn causes oxidation and creates the black center. Now, we all know that it is best to leave a pimple alone, however, who out there follows that advice 100% of the time? I believe I can safely say no one or next to no one.
